Trauma Informed Care

Improving the accessibility and quality of services by creating culturally sensitive, safe services that people trust and want to use.

About us

We are experienced psychologists and coaches, who help organisations embed trauma-informed principles. We work with teams and systems that are looking to thrive, that feel stuck, are in conflict or have experienced organisational trauma. We work across a range of sectors, from Health and Social Care to Third Sector and Independent organisations.

Our collaboration began with our passion for supporting organisations to transform the way they deliver care, and support staff wellbeing. With almost 60 years Clinical Psychology experience between us, and having developed and led services in Mental Health and Acute trusts, across Adult Services, Paediatrics and Maternity, we bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Based in Cambridgeshire and able to travel to you, we offer a flexible approach, working in-person and remotely. We will partner with you to discover what your organisation needs, and how we can best support you.

We work with trauma in organisations through:

  • Teaching, training, supervision

  • Consultation and coaching

  • Mediating between patients, families and clinical teams

  • Working with PALS and Complaints teams

  • Facilitating and evaluating change

  • Equipping you with skills to support staff after incidents

  • Helping you to plan for major incidents

Collaboration and co-production are central to our work. Organisations can truly thrive when they listen to and partner with their clients, patients, service users, customers, staff members and wider communities.

Praise for TIC

  • Trauma Informed Leadership has been one of the most important series of training sessions I have commissioned for my senior nursing team. The way in which Denise opens up the concept of being trauma informed in a leadership space is engaging, mindful and delivered in a way that supports reflection, learning and deeper understanding of self and others. Given the high pace and pressure that senior leaders in healthcare have worked in, and continue to do so, having the space and time to stop, reflect and consider trauma in its wider context is so important.

  • Feedback from my team has been universally positive and helped them to consider and engage in different ways with patients, families and colleagues. It has also allowed them to consider their triggers in practise, which is a fundamental part of leading with compassion, humility and thoughtfulness. I cannot recommend this course highly enough having also been a participant myself. Thank you Denise, I look forward to working with you again in the near future.

  • I have had the pleasure of working with Sara on a number of occasions within maternity. Her advice and support has been excellent. She has a lovely calm and considered presence. She puts service users at the heart of everything she does as evident within her approach to practice. She is also a fantastic support for staff when dealing with complex situations.
